Perhaps one of the most unique sights in high school sports, the Indian Spirit has graced the field at PN-G football games with traditional dance techniques for 62 years. Jamie Rohe was the first Indian Spirit in 1961.
A handful of PN-G students compete every year for the honor of carrying on the proud tradition of being the spirit leader. Each candidate invests many hours to master and accurately represent the Native American dance.
The Indian Spirit represents the tremendous school spirit and excellence that Port Neches-Groves students and athletes strive for.
The chosen Indian Spirit carries on this school tradition with reverence and utmost respect for Native Americans, and strives to be a role model in every day life, demonstrating character and respect for all.
