Cherokee

“Cherokee,” is the official fight song of Port Neches-Groves High School and is played following touchdowns and extra points at football games, as well as many other occasions.  One of the most recognizable fight songs in Texas high school football, “Cherokee” is based on a 1938 Jazz standard by Ray Noble, later rearranged by former Port Neches band director Frank Giovale.

Lyrics

Always be faithful
To purple and white.
Cheer on with spirit
And our team will fight.

Here come the Indians
Down the trails of victory
Winning our conquests
for PN-G!

I-N-D-I-A-N-S Scalp ’em Indians, Scalp ’em

I-N-D-I-A-N-S Scalp ’em Indians, Scalp ’em
