Dave Campbell’s Texas Football (Texasfootball.com) announced Port Neches-Groves’ Indian Stadium as the Stadium Showdown winner Monday on its Texas Football Today show via Facebook.

“We’re definitely humbled and honored to win. I think I’m pretty partial but I think they got it right,” PN-G head football coach Brandon Faircloth said. “Whether it’s volleyball, baseball, football or an online poll on Dave’ Campbell’s site during the coronavirus, our fans show up.”

PN-G’s Indian Stadium defeated the Eagle Stadium home of Sanderson High School in a 64 team bracket, single-elimination tournament. Indian Stadium defeated Lobo Longview Stadium, Denison Munson Stadium, Temple Wildcat Stadium, Corpus Christi Buccaneer Stadium and Texakana Tiger Stadium before being crowned champions of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Stadium Showdown.

The Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Stadium Showdown allowed championship voting from April 24 to Monday. Indian Stadium and BISD Memorial Stadium were the only other Southeast Texas stadiums chosen for the 64-stadium tournament. The 13,500 seat stadium was renovated in 2009 and includes a two-floor press box.

Faircloth said the atmosphere at Indian Stadium is second to none.

“I’d say we have one of the best crowds in Texas on Friday night and one of the biggest home side stands with 8,500 seats,” Faithcloth said. “My favorite part is walking through the run through because it goes to show that the kids’ hard work is paying off with all the support they get from their community.”
