4-Time State Champions

AT&T Stadium, Arlington, TX –  Port Neches-Groves knocked off defending champion South Oak Cliff 20-17 in front of 33,000 fans to win their fourth state championship in football.   

The Indians stifling defense held South Oak Cliff to only 78 yards of offense in the first half and 162 total for the game.   

South Oak Cliff’s 17 points was well below their 41 point per game average and they were unable to score on their final possession of the game.

The Indians offense gained over 300 yards including 112 yards rushing by Isaac Nguyen and  179 yards passing by Connor Bailey. 

PN-G finished the season with a 15-1 record and it’s fourth state championship crown. 

South Oak Cliff closed out the year with a third straight state finals appearance and a season record of 13-3.
