Head Coach Jeff Joseph

“This is the type of job that I’ve always hoped for. A job with tremendous community and administration support.  And a great tradition and excellence in athletics.”

“This is a special place. I’ve never experienced anything like it.”

Coach Joseph is entering his 15th year of coaching with experience at several top programs in the state including Katy High School, Katy Seven Lakes High School, 4 seasons as defensive coordinator at Austin Westlake, defensive assistant at Texas A&M University for 3 seasons, defensive coordinator at Magnolia West and special teams coordinator and defensive assistant at Southlake Carroll.  He has coached in 4 state championship games and 3 NCAA bowl games.

For Jeff Joseph’s family, football is a true tradition. Coach Joseph’s grandfather, Eddie Joseph, led a successful coaching career at Wharton High School and later became executive vice president of Texas High School Coaches Association. His father, Gary Joseph, is the longtime head coach at Katy High School.

Prior to the 2022 season Jeff Joseph was selected as the 20th head football coach in the 98 year history of PN-G football. He also serves as athletic director.

In 2022, Coach Joseph led the Indians to 6 district wins for the first time since 2018, the first regional championship in 23 years, and the first team to reach the state finals in 23 years (1999).   With a final season record of 13-3, he became only the second head coach at PN-G to ever appear in the state championship game during his first season.  The Indians lost a close match to the defending state champions in front of an unofficial count of 40,000+ fans at AT&T Stadium.  Joseph was named as the 2022 Beaumont Enterprise Super Gold Coach of the Year.  He also received the 4th Annual National Football Foundation Bum Phillips Golden Triangle High School Coach of the Year Award.

Prior to the 2023 season, Coach Joseph was recognized by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football as a member of their 2023 40 Coaches Under 40 team which honors the best and brightest young minds in football across the Lone Star State.

The Indians finished the 2023 season with a 15-1 record, a school record 15 straight wins, and the 5A Division II state championship.

Coach Joseph was named 2023 TSWA 5A Coach of the Year,  2023 THSCA Region 5 5A Coach of the Year, 2023 Southeast Texas Coaches Association Coach of the Year, 2023 Beaumont Enterprise Super Gold Coach of the Year, and 2023 District 9-5A Coach of the Year.

After two seasons his record at PN-G is 28-4-0 with two state finals appearances and one state championship.

With their first state football title since 1975, and the 4th state championship in its 99 year history, the Indians are poised to continue a tradition of excellence under Coach Joseph’s leadership.
