Friday Night Five: Did we just watch the craziest bi-district round of all-time?

THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF RESULTS EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT DURING FOOTBALL SEASON, BUT WE’LL SPOTLIGHT FIVE EACH WEEK THAT MADE HEADLINES.

The opening round of the Texas high school playoffs, while exciting, is rarely packed with as many crazy finishes and upsets as we saw on Friday night. If the next five weeks are anywhere near as much fun as the last five hours, we’re in for a treat.

Port Neches-Groves 72, Crosby 69

We knew there would be a lot of points, but this game took it to another level. Port Neches-Groves QB Roschon Johnson emerged as the conquering star with a stat line that will surely earn him a nomination as the Mr. Texas Football Player of the Week, throwing for 326 yards, rushing for 272 yards and tallying up 10 touchdowns.
